Company Story

The spark of VTT was made from the year 2000 when a young boy named Windy Phong by chance got a seat in the Hanoi Open University - Faculty of Tourism. He soon felt that tour guiding is a interesting job and he started guiding when he was only the 2nd year student in the university.

After 7 years of guiding all around Vietnam with different companies, Windy soon found that a lot clients want to find him when they visit Vietnam again and that the tour guide is the most important factor of a tour! In the developing country where a lot of tour guides are not trained in a professional way and got the ideals of "tourist traps" and "cheatings" and there is no foundation or business focuses on Tour Guides. It was really hard for him to convince tourists about the quality of the guide they would come with as his absence replacement, he had sometimes trouble of asking some "experienced" guides he knew to lead the tour and got the non-reply message from his clients about the tour even the guide reported that everything went smoothly.

When starting to create his own business, he also joined in some foreign Guide Listing Websites and soon realized the 15% to 25% commission each site takes for each of the tour is really a killing matter. This is the turning point of his life when he think about a forum where clients will be able to choose the guide and share the feeling about the guide in their Vietnam tour which will be arranged in a very much lower rate and also a channel where the truly experienced guide who loves the job and want to earn their own trade mark as a successful guide and also want to improve their income for being an excellent tour guide. They are to meet the conditions to get the International Guiding Lisence granted by VNAT, passionate people who are proud of the place they live. They can work with a variety of tours, including unusual tours in their locals and the most inportant of all is to be a trustful person who VTT can give the company future to their hands and customers can trust in their services and personality.

We link these two customer groups through asiapearltravel.com. We search out and qualify potential tour guides help them get set up on the system and develop their trade mark by giving tours to them. Different from other companies, VTT would rank the local guides in a certain area monthly and get the guide salary accordingly to the personal request of the tour guide as well as their performance in the company. Thus, travelers trip quotation is a bit effected by the different guides payment requirement. The logo is accepted and protected by Vietnamese Government for its unique and Representativeness for Vietnam Tour Tailor (VTT) Trade mark. Any effort to copy or modify this logo to add into any other websites will lead to illegal charges and will cause to the litigation from Vietnam Tour Tailor. As it is FULLY protected by Vietnamese Government, the cost of the litigation and the expenditures must be covered by the litigated part. Punishment would be up to 120,000,000 VND as per from Vietnam Trademark Law.

An example: If any person, group copy the NAME of the company: Vietnam Tour Tailor => Vietnam Tailored Tour, Vietnam Tailor Services… Vietnam Tour Tailor has the right to litigate the individuals or group for trying to Copy the Trade Mark of the company, creating similar web pages … and the punishment can be 120.000.000 VND.

Any individuals and group try to destroy the Trade Mark, the prestige of VTT would be punished by Vietnamese Business law as clearly mentioned in The Vietnam Business Law 1992 revised in 2013.

Vietnam Tour Tailor Company Ltd (VTT) would like to send our sicerest thanks to you for your choosing us as your local land tour partner - Local land tour operator  and your guiding career in Vietnam!

As given by Vietnamese regulations, for a tour that runs, we would like to ask customers, partners and guides follow the below regulations:

Valid International Vietnam Tour Guide License by VNAT is a MUST for a guide to register with us to go to the Quality Test

TO VTT GUIDES:

I. Notice and follow the Vietnam Tour Guide Business Principles when you apply to become a Listed Qualified Tour Guide with VTT.

It is a strong remind that:

- If you set the date to be available and then do not deliver the tour for sometimes on purpose, we will put a Notice of Guide's Non Professionalism to your guide profile and that would effect your trade mark for long term tour guide career!

- Once a tour booking is confirmed, you will do your utmost to deliver the tour unless there is an illness or other exceptional circumstance. In this case, as soon as possible, you will inform the customer and VTT so that we can work with you to find another qualified tour guide who are in the list so that clients can make a rating for his(her) performance after the tour. In all cases, you are responsible for the successful delivery of the tour as you are the one who confirmed it.

II. Make sure you have these documents before your travel with customers to avoid breaking government rules of Tour Guiding (Issued in 2005)

1. The Fully Printed itinearary in BOTH English and Vietnamese with our company stamp and company manager's SIGNATURE in original form or in PDF file. This document is required to bring along for all your journey. 

2. Your Tour CONTRACT with VTT for the tour you are taking with our company stamp and company manager's SIGNATURE in original form or in PDF file. This document is required to bring along for all your journey. 

3. Lists of Customers going with the tour with VTT for the tour you are taking with our company stamp and company manager's SIGNATURE in original form or in PDF file. This document is required to bring along for all your journey. 

4. Your International Tour Guide Lisence which you used to register with VTT and still valid.

Please contact to us immediately if you are missing any of those document. Make sure that you bring that with you all the time and VTT does not take any of responsibility to the troubles that happens if you are working without any of those requirements. Kindly notice that missing any of those paper when you are working may result to 1.000.000d to 3.000.000d fine by Local Tourism Authority.

Please send us the Rooming lists of the group at least 24 hours before the travel date if clients are going with a tour with an overnight accommodation.

Tour Guides' awareness about the following Article 44 in Vietnam Tourism Decree 158/2013/NĐ-CP issued on 13/11/2013 is required:

Article 44. Violations against regulations on tour guides

1. The tour guide or speaker that leads the tour without a tour guide’s card or certificate shall incur a fine of from 200,000 VND to 500,000VND.

2. A fine of from 1,000,000 VND to 3,000,000 VND shall be imposed for one of the following violations:

a) Providing incorrect information about the tourist attraction;

b) Failing to bring the tour schedule or assignment note made by the travel service provider;

c) Failing to instruct tourists to comply with Vietnam’s law, rules of the tourist attractions, local traditions and customs;

d) Failing to provide tourists or their representative with sufficient about the tour schedule.

3. A fine of from 3,000,000 VND to 5,000,000 VND shall be imposed for one of the following violations:

a) Failing to conclude a written contract with the travel service provider;

b) Failing to provide tourists with information about measures for ensuring the safety of their health and belongings during the tour;

c) Lending the tour guide's card or speaker’s certificate to another person;

d) Using the tour guide's card or speaker’s certificate of another person;

dd) Using an expired tour guide’s card;

e) Providing false information about the documents in the application for the issuance or replacement of the tour guide’s card or speaker’s certificate;

g) Failing to promptly inform tourists of the emergency, epidemic, or other threats to the tourists.

4. A fine of from 5,000,000 VND to 10,000,000 VND shall be imposed for one of the following violations:

a) Falsifying the tour guide's card or speaker’s certificate;

b) Using a domestic tour guide's card when guiding foreign tourists;

c) Giving speech to tourists at tourist attractions without the speaker’s certificate;

d) Guiding the tour without a tour guide's card;

dd) Using a fake tour guide's card or fake speaker’s certificate;

e) Changing the tour schedule without permission, cutting the standards or services to which the tourists are entitled.

5. A fine of from 10,000,000 VND to 15,000,000 VND shall be imposed for one of the following violations:

c) Failing to manage tourists under the concluded contract and the tour schedule that are registered;

b) Collecting non-contractual fees from tourists;

c) Providing false information about the culture, history, and people of Vietnam, giving the tourist a bad impression about Vietnam’s fine traditions and customs.

6. A fine of from 15,000,000 VND to 20,000,000 VND shall be imposed for one of the following violations:

a) Leading tourists to restricted areas;

b) Assigning foreigners as tour guides in Vietnam;

7. Additional penalties:

a) Revoking the tour guide’s card for 3 - 6 months, applicable to the violations in Point b and Point c Clause 5 of this Article;

b) Revoking the tour guide’s card for 6 - 12 months, applicable to the violations in Point c Clause 3, Point a and Point b Clause 4 of this Article;

c) Revoking the license to provide international travel services for 6 - 12 months, applicable to the violations in Point c and Point d Clause 3, Point a Clause 4 of this Article;

d) Confiscating the illegal items mentioned in Point d and Point dd Clause 3 of this Article.

8. Remedial measures:

Compulsory transfer of the profits earned from illegal activities to government budget, applicable to the violations in Point b Clause 5 of this Article.

To register as a Listed Vietnam Tour Guide, you agree to uphold the following principles:

1. Qualified for the job

With a Valid Vietnam tour guide license and pass through the Quality Test of VTT, you will be a Listed Guide with us! It is always free!

As you are working in Vietnam, you have to follow the government policy which is listed in the Vietnam Law on Tourism. Thus, the foremost condition to be a listed guide is to get a International Tour Guide License granted by VNAT (Vietnam National Tourism Administration) which is still in use. This certificate will assure that VTT will not counter any problem when you lead the tour and that we will not have to pay any entrance fee for the guide she hires which will rise up our rate and lower down the company competitiveness.

 Moreover, it is to show your education level which you have to gather to get qualified for the license. You should always be proud that you are a well-trained person and that you have to work to deserve that training. 

2. Professionalism

You are a professional, whose primary concern is to provide your customers with unique travel experiences. To that end, you always act in a friendly, calm but professional manner. You understand that everything you say and do is a reflection of you, Vietnam Tour Tailor Company, Vietnam and Vietnamese culture. You accept that you have total responsibility for your customer's happiness and safety. You believe that it is best to under promise and over deliver.

3. Full Information

You believe in full and complete disclosure. All information in your tour guide profile and tour description pages are accurate and up-to-date. Where changes due to weather or other circumstance are possible, they are noted the tour description. You have a keen awareness of any hazards and clearly explain issues related to personal safety.

4. Responsive

VTT tries our best to instantly satisfy any customer need of a tour guide or tour services, so please try to make your Availability Calendar up-to-date. If you have set your calendar to be Available and the Customer book you then you are RESPONSIBLE to deliver the tour. Please stay connected via Cell phone or internet to update your availability whenever you have a change in the calendar. If you set the date to be available and then do not deliver the tour for sometimes on purpose, we will put a Notice of Non Professional Guide  to your guide profile and that would effect your trade mark for long term tour guide career!

5. Reliable

Once a tour booking is confirmed, you will do your utmost to deliver the tour unless there is an illness or other exceptional circumstance. In this case, as soon as possible, you will inform the customer and VTT so that we can work with you to find another qualified tour guide to take the tour who are in the list or the Qualified guide you know who are not in the list recommended by you should be creating a profile in our web site before the end of the tour so that clients can make a rating for his(her) performance. In all cases, you are responsible for the successful delivery of the tour as you are the one who confirmed it.

Once you have the a tour booking and arrange the guide by yourself without informing us, we will not pay you after the tour and wait till clients' feedback to know what happened. If any trouble happens, we will issue the Full refund to the customers.

6. Value for Money

The cost extra per day for your performance is charged to customers will be as described in the tour description. You understand that the value of the Extra money that the clients have to pay for your performance of the tour will be realized when they tour with you. We believe that all the guide hope to get the tip at the end of the tour but under no circumstances will you ask for a tip directly by anyway since you will be able to set your own salary after 10 reviews, tipping is not always necessary. 7. Knowledgeable

Your role is critical to the success of the tour. You are passionate and are well versed in the subject matter of your tour. If you don't know something, you are forthright about saying so and make an effort to get the answer before the end of the tour.

8. Proactive

You are proactive and confirm and reconfirm all details of your tour, a day or two ahead of the activity. If possible, you contact VTT on the evening prior to the tour. During the tour, you anticipate events and are aware of what's going on around you. You understand that you are responsible for the well-being of your customers and aware of their emotional and physical safety at all times.

9. Well Groomed

You present a tidy appearance, appropriate for the tour and avoid activities that might give offense - smoking, chewing gum, foul language and the like.

10. Flexible

You understand that your job very demanding and that everything won't always run smoothly. When changes have to be made, you are clear to the customer why the change is being made and report to VTT for solution. You do your best to make the customer happy at all times.
